On December 7, 2022, responsibility for the Professional Governance Act was transferred from the Ministry of Attorney General to the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, where OSPG will be associated with the Governance and Corporate Planning Division. This change has been made in recognition of the linkages between professional governance, labour mobility, and foreign credential recognition, which will now fall under the same Ministry.

As part of this transition, Kate Haines has been appointed as Superintendent, taking over from Paul Craven. Kate has been part of the OSPG executive team since April 2020, serving most recently as Deputy Superintendent in the Audits, Investigations and Performance Management portfolio. Kate and the OSPG team thank Paul for his leadership in establishing the OSPG as inaugural Superintendent, and look forward to continuing OSPG’s work towards effective, trusted and supported professional governance that protects the interests of British Columbians.
