The Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance (OSPG) has recently filed its first annual report with the Clerk of the legislature which details the activities that have been undertaken since its establishment and what is anticipated leading up to November and beyond. The OSPG was established in June of 2019 to implement the PGA and prepare to oversee the five regulatory bodies under the PGA once it is fully brought into force this November. Since establishment, the OSPG has been working hard with the regulatory bodies to establish the new bylaws, policies, and regulations that will be required to transition to the PGA.

After November, the OSPG will be shifting away from implementation and into an operations mode. When that begins, the OSPG’s focus will change to oversight of the regulatory bodies, and closer examination and discussion of best practices in professional governance.

Subsequent annual reports will detail the work of the OSPG in its oversight role of the regulatory bodies, and provide information and detail on the work of the regulatory bodies in governing in the public interest.
