NOTICE OF INVESTIGATION – Home Inspectors

Whereas:  Home inspectors currently can be certified and registered with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC, or registered with the Home Inspectors Association BC, or choose not to be registered with either.

Whereas:  Home inspectors require a licence from Consumer Protection BC to provide home inspection services.

Whereas:  The Deputy Solicitor General, with current responsibility for home inspection policy and programs in BC, has asked the Superintendent to examine the regulatory governance of home inspectors and their profession to consider if they should be fully designated under the Professional Governance Act.

Notice is given under s. 86(2) of the Professional Governance Act that the Superintendent of Professional Governance is carrying out an investigation to determine if and how professional regulation and governance of home inspection professionals should be fully designated under the Professional Governance Act.
