Since the appointment of the Superintendent and the establishment of the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance (OSPG) in July of 2019, the Superintendent and OSPG staff have engaged with the regulatory bodies and their registrants, stakeholders, and community on numerous aspects of the Professional Governance Act (PGA) and professional governance. This engagement has occurred through invitation and participation in meetings, committees, conferences, seminars and networking. The Superintendent and staff of the OSPG are happy to engage with you or your organization to provide information on the PGA or professional governance. If you would like to discuss opportunities for future engagement, please write OSPGEnquiries@gov.bc.ca with your contact information and a description of your interest in professional governance. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your interest.

From November 2020 through to April 2021, OSPG has engaged with industry associations, large employers of professionals, NGOs, local governments, Indigenous government, and staff from multiple ministries on the changes brought about by the coming into force of the Professional Governance Act (PGA) (see complete listing of engagement sessions below).

These engagement sessions focused primarily around the role of OSPG and the role of regulatory bodies, reserved practices of the professions, the statutory duty to report, and firm regulation. You can watch the recorded presentation here or view the associated slide deck.
